Recently, the National Capital Region was amalgamated into the city of Ottawa and includes the former townships, towns and villages of Cumberland, Gloucester, Goulbourn, Kanata, Nepean, Osgoode, Ottawa, Rideau, Rockcliffe Park, Vanier, and West Carleton.
